About kevin olickal

In the 2022 midterm elections, Kevin Olickal became one of the first South Asian members elected to the state House of Representatives. Representing the 16th District, he sits on eight committees, including the Judiciary Criminal, Labor & Commerce, and Job Growth & Workforce Development Committees. 

Raised in Skokie, Olickal is a graduate of the Ohio State University and is currently studying law part time at Loyola University. He has dedicated his professional career to the public and non-profit sectors, formerly serving as the Executive Director of the Indo-American Democratic Organization and the Cook County COVID-19 Recovery Specialist for Small Businesses. As a legislator, his policy priorities include gun safety, reproductive rights, affordable housing, sustainability, and education.
